Fall, fall, fall!!

YAY! It's finally October! This is exciting for many reasons. It's the best season of the year and just so happens to be my birthday month! Plus, I now have an excuse to make Jimmy sit through fun Halloween movies with me. Every year in October Jimmy and I have a SAW marathon, I know, I know those movies are really gruesome, but we love them and what better month to watch them!

Life has been getting more and more busy. We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary on September 22. We took a little road trip down to Newport Beach, which is absolutely beautiful! We had dinner at a cute little vintage style jazz restaurant called 21 Ocean Front. After dinner I thought it would be incredibly romantic to walk on the beach, so I dragged Jimmy down the beach and then got the bright idea to go run in the ocean. Surprisingly, the water was really warm. We had a great time and look forward to going back to Newport!

We took a trip up to Fernley, NV to visit my grandparents the weekend after our anniversary. Where's Fernley, you ask? That's what I said the first time I heard it. It's about 30 min east of Reno, in other words in the middle of nowhere! My grandpa refers to it Ferntucky! It is very peaceful there and my grandparents spoil the crap out of us. This time they took us shooting and boy, was it fun! Jimmy was a great shot, so much so that we came home and found a shooting range near us that we will be visiting on the near future. After our stop in Fernley we decided to take the longest way home and stop off in the Bay Area to visit Jimmy's grandma and uncle, have some drinks with friends and breakfast with my fam.

The drive to Fernley was loooong and boring, but had an amazing sunset!

Jimmy started school on the 7th and to say he is going to be busy for the next year and a half would be a huge understatement! He is extremely excited and is going to have a world of opportunities! Speaking of Jimmy attended a producers seminar a few weeks ago and was presented with an opportunity to make a beat and submit it to Dr. Dre (I refer to him as The Doctor) for a substantial payment. Its a super exciting and a huge opportunity to get his career and company off to a great start!

Some other exciting news that happened on October 7th was.... the birth of our niece! Reilly Sharon has arrived and we couldn't be more excited to meet her!

Yesterday we celebrated my 27th birthday and it was fantastic! Jimmy likes to remind me that I am now in my late 20's, but I'm clenching to mid 20's, well approach late 20's next year! We had a good time walking around Rodeo Drive in the afternoon. We headed to the SUR Lounge for a cocktail and a glass of bubbles. I am huge fan of trashy reality tv and so excited to finally go into SUR... but it was anticlimactic (we're going to try it again for dinner before we make our final judgement on it). For my birthday dinner Jimmy told me he was taking me to the "original Wendy's" and tada we ended up at The Ivy and he surprised me with my bff and her boyfriend! It was a great night, amazing food and wonderful company. And... I finally tried a Sprinkles cupcake, yummo! You did good hubs!

Today it RAINED (another reason why I love October)! It finally felt like fall. And... Apparently it's going back to being 80 degrees tomorrow. See you in a month rainy day! Speaking of Fall, I've been working hard on creating DIY decorations and this was my first project!

WOW! That was a lot to recap! Until next time...

Welcome!

Hi Folks!
This is my very first blog post, EVER! That's right, I'm a blog virgin.  Jimmy and I, well more me than him, wanted to have a way for our family and friends to keep in touch with our lives, so Welcome! We recently started our first adventure as Mr & Mrs when we packed up and moved to Southern California. We've been here for about 2 months and it has been great so far. We've spent most of our weekends driving around town scoping out new restaurants to try, or you know, on the hunt for celebrity sightings. We've been trying to hit up Runyon Canyon (a hiking trail in Hollywood) at least once a week, when I say trying I mean we attempted it twice and completed it once, but Hey! it's the thought that counts!

As we've been settling in I'm pretty sure I've been driving Jimmy absolutely bananas with all of my decorating ideas, dinner party plans and my obsessive need to keep our place clean, organized and decorated for the seasons! First up, FALL! I am so excited to decorate for fall and even more excited for... pumpkin beer, it's like liquid pumpkin pie! I mean, what's better than that!?!

As for Kona, our pup, she has been adjusting well. She loves to trot around the block like she owns the town! We've actually been able to get some great pictures of her since being here, which is very exciting! And, yes we are those people that think our dog is our child, what else are we to do since we don't have any kiddos yet!

For those of you visiting that do not know how to pronounce our name, you may be a little confused with the name of our blog Pfann'd Memories... Let me break it down for you,  our last name looks like FAN, but is pronounced FAWN (like a baby deer). Since our name is so unique and most people have trouble pronouncing it, we love to come up with creative ways of using it! This all started when we got engaged and my wonderful bff and maid of honor created this hilarious home page to a website(http://mrspfann.weebly.com) to get people to understand the fun you can have with our name!

This is the bff's contact name for our home phone! Genius!
